Welcome back Hajo :) I was worried you may be gone forever  Perhaps that was the first ever Ecomatic meet in the world? :) I hope you all learnt from eachother and had a good time talking about the cars. Re: PLEASE HELP ME
Hi Eglison, The video is good, this narrows down the problem very well :) OK, my first thoughts is that your gear display switch F208 is malfunctioning. Alternatively, it could be possible that your gear monitor switch F209 is at fault. The [k48] light is flashing because: The car does not know what...

Hi Eglison, OK, when you say "the car does not start". Is this because the engine has switched off. What if you try and pull away before the engine switches off? If you start up the vehicle, disable ecomatic mode , and try to pull off, does the car let you then? Could you answer my questio...

Tow/push starting an Ecomatic
An Ecomatic can be tow/push started. Prerequisites: -Battery has sufficient power to operate ECU, electric vacuum pump (to create vacuum), and the clutch final control element, as well as operate the glow plugs (if the engine is very cold). -Vacuum system OK. For example, it is possible the battery ...

Hi Eglison, This is very strange indeed. Do any of the warning lamps flash ( [k110] [k48] [k111] )? Could you be more specific by "the car does not move"? Can you engage a gear? What happens when you press the accelerator? It would be very difficult to make a diagnosis on such limited info...

Hi Eglison. Do you think that this fault is related to the car being an ecomatic. Or, is it perhaps a general engine fault? Could you be more specific "my car only run". Does the car not start up, or do other problems occur with it? Do any ecomatic warning lamps flash? [k110] [k48] [k111] ?

Re: Hey I'm new
If all the 3 lights blink, then a fault has developed which is serious enough to stop the engine from switching off. This could be most likely a vacuum pressure fault, if the control unit thinks there is a vacuum leak, or looses vacuum data (i.e., the sensor is playing up), the engine will no longer...

You think very wisely :) Yes, some ecomatics here have had their ecomatic removed, what a shame! VAG-COM is extremely important for an ecomatic, firstly, if you have your clutch changed, or adjust it, the clutch must be adapted (even if you haven't done any of this, if you run the adaption you may f...

Hmm, I wouldn't rule out a low battery anyway regarding your no-start, it can cause odd things. VAG-COM would help loads diagnosing silly problems like this. If you have a clutch pedal then your car will not have ecomatic functionality. It has probably been converted to a normal diesel golf
You would know if it was an ecomatic within minutes when the engine turns off

Re: Confusion
Hi Gencha! In simple terms, the ecomatic does not have a clutch pedal, and will switch the engine on and off when you aren't pressing the accelerator. It is possible that your car was an ecomatic and was converted to a standard vehicle. Do you have an instrument cluster like this http://deylan.co.uk...

Update #3292
I have a feeling the main battery is causing this, with the cold weather the starter is sounding weak in the morning, there also is a large voltage drop and I think this is causing loss of power to the relay.
Will continue to investigate once I have a new battery!
